Betty Rankin Widgeon is a retired Chief Judge of the 14A District Court for Washtenaw County in Ann Arbor, MI. During her tenure with the Court, Judge Widgeon adjudicated hundreds of criminal and civil matters from their inception through final disposition. In 2017, she was invited to join the Michigan Supreme Court roster of Special Masters to determine Findings and Facts and Conclusions of Law for complaints alleging judicial misconduct by sitting state judges.
After leaving the bench in 1999, Judge Widgeon established Widgeon Dispute Resolution and Consultation Services, PLC (WDR), where she serves as the lead Arbitrator, Factfinder, and Mediator, along with associate attorneys James T. Widgeon and Anna E. Widgeon. The WDR ADR practice is varied in both locale and diversity of cases, primarily arbitrating labor grievances and employment, commercial, and consumer claims. WDR’s practice currently spans the U.S. and is also available for international disputes virtually and in person.
